Supervisor – Paint Department  Windhoek

1. Main Function of the Role

The Paint Department Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the paint section to ensure efficient, organized, and customer-centric service delivery. This includes supervising staff, managing inventory, ensuring effective merchandising, and upholding company standards for safety, customer service, and administration. The role plays a critical part in maintaining optimal stock levels, enhancing customer satisfaction, and ensuring smooth departmental operations.

 

2. Key Performance Areas

  • Operational Efficiency
    • Ensure the paint department is organized and operates smoothly on a daily basis.
    • Plan and prepare the department to meet business demands.
  • Merchandising & Inventory Control
    • Ensure shelves are well stocked and products are attractively displayed.
    • Manage stock levels through regular monitoring, purchasing, and inventory control.
  • Customer Service & Sales
    • Provide excellent in-store and telephonic customer service.
    • Support sales efforts by assisting customers with product choices and queries.
  • Staff Supervision
    • Supervise and support team members within the paint department.
    • Oversee daily responsibilities and performance of staff.
  • Administration & Reporting
    • Handle invoicing and general administrative tasks.
    • Maintain accurate records of stock and sales.
  • Asset Management
    • Ensure all departmental equipment and assets are maintained and functional.
  • Health & Safety Compliance
    • Enforce and monitor adherence to health and safety regulations in the department.

 

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the hardware, paint, or FMCG industry.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven supervisory and leadership capabilities.
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with team members and customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and basic understanding of marketing communication tools and social media platforms.
  • A proactive and service-driven mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
