1. Main Function of the Role

The Granning/Verifying Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of goods received, verifying documentation, and maintaining efficient record-keeping. The role supports operational integrity by ensuring proper alignment between delivery documents, invoices, prices, and quantities, while adhering to company policies and procedures.

 

2. Key Performance Areas

  • Goods Receiving and Verification:
    • Ensure items received are correctly granned and recorded in the system.
    • Verify that quantities on delivery notes match those on invoices accurately.
    • Ensure all delivery documentation is received, checked, and filed correctly.
  • Document Management:
    • Organize, sign, and file granning documents as per company requirements.
    • Perform scanning and follow-ups on claims in a timely manner.
  • Price and Quantity Accuracy:
    • Match prices on documentation accurately to system data.
    • Ensure timely and accurate price updates in the system.
  • Cash-Up and System Updates:
    • Ensure cash-ups are conducted efficiently and on schedule.
    • Support system updates and verify data accuracy in compliance with company standards.

 

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Grade 11 (New Curriculum) or Grade 12 (NSSC-O) with at least 22 marks.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Granning/Verifying Clerk role, preferably in the retail or construction industry.
  • Strong numerical understanding and accuracy in data handling.
  • Computer literacy, with knowledge of the “Kerridge” computer system as an advantage.
