1. Main Function of the Role

The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of a KFC restaurant, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service, adherence to quality standards, and achievement of business objectives. This role involves managing daily operations, leading and developing a dynamic team, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. The RGM will also play a key role in driving growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

 

2. Key Performance Areas

  • Operational Management:
    • Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company standards.
    • Utilize the Merit POS system to process orders, manage inventory, and optimize workflows.
    • Coordinate catering events and ensure timely and professional service delivery.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Recruit, supervise, and train restaurant staff in hospitality, food preparation, and customer service.
    • Provide ongoing performance feedback and conduct regular team evaluations.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Customer Service Excellence:
    • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and maintaining quality service standards.
    • Promote a culture of hospitality and professionalism among staff.
  • Health, Safety, and Cleanliness:
    • Monitor food handling procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming restaurant environment.
  • Financial and Strategic Planning:
    • Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and drive profitability.
    • Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and business growth.

 

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background:
    • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A degree in hospitality or business management is an advantage.
  • Experience:
    • At least 4 years of experience in a management role within the food service industry, preferably with KFC.
    • Experience in using Merit POS or similar restaurant management software is preferred.
    • Proven track record in coordinating catering events and achieving business objectives.
  • Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of food service operations and industry best practices.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of food handling and safety regulations.
