1. Main Function of the Role:

The primary function of the Quantity Surveyor is to lead the QS department and mentor QS in training, while managing all financial aspects of construction projects. This includes preparing detailed cost estimates, feasibility studies, Bills of Quantities, and schedules of rates for new works and alterations. The role involves issuing valuations and payment certificates, preparing interim and final accounts, and ensuring financial controls are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. The Quantity Surveyor will ensure compliance with contractual and legal requirements and support the performance management framework to ensure financial performance on allocated projects.

 

2. Key Performance areas:

  • Prepare estimates, Feasibility Studies, Bills of Quantifies, and schedule of rates for new works, and alterations & additions related scope of work.
  • Complete and issue valuations and payment certificates for identified scope of works on monthly basis.
  • Prepare interim and Final Accounts with contractors, suppliers, and consultants with the aim of settling contractual claims and settlement of contracts soon after project completion.
  • Undertake and maintain financial checks and balances with the aim of maintaining financial controls against identified/approved budgets and client goals.
  • Conduct regular reviews of schedules of rates to ensure continued relevance and procure information required in the usage of rates on an on-going basis including building up a historical cost database.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on performance of contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers during construction and after contract completion.
  •  Check, maintain and implement required compliance with contractual terms and conditions of legal regulatory requirements within the execution of identified projects.
  • Support a performance management framework ensuring required/relevant financial performance on allocated projects.
  • Prepare, monitor, manage and report on budgets for all related construction activities including the project close-out phase.
  • Attending, and where necessary, running project meetings relating to deliver of the financial services offered by the Company.

 

3. Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a registered Quantity Surveyor
  • WinQS software proficiency
  • DimX experience will be beneficial
  • Valid Driver’s License
