1. Main Function

The primary purpose of the Commercial Advancement Training Scheme (CATS) is to provide dual training to school leavers. Participants will gain practical work experience combined with theoretical studies, enabling them to develop foundational professional skills and advance their careers in a structured, supportive environment.

2. Key Performance Areas

Participants are expected to:

  • Actively participate in both the academic and on-the-job training components of the program.
  • Complete all assignments, projects, and practical exercises within set deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional growth throughout the two-year training period.
  • Adhere to company and CATS program policies, including maintaining accurate and truthful records of financial and academic information.
  • Collaborate effectively with peers, mentors, and supervisors in the workplace.
  • Develop proficiency in core areas such as communication, time management, and problem-solving relevant to the industry.

3. Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for consideration:

  • Academic Requirements:
    • Grade 11 or Grade 12 with a minimum of 30 points in 5 subjects at NSSC / HIGCSE level.
    • A minimum of a "C" symbol in both English and Mathematics.
    • Alternatively, a successful Mature Age Entry Test result from NUST.
