Store Assistant – Agrimark Mariental  Mariental

1. Main Function of the Role

The Store Assistant is responsible for ensuring the efficient handling of stock, including loading and off-loading of vehicles, sorting, picking, verifying, and packing consignments. The role also requires adherence to operational procedures to maintain excellent service delivery levels, as well as compliance with health, safety, and security regulations.

2. Key Performance Areas

  • Sorting, picking, verifying, and packing stock for distribution.
  • Ensuring proper stacking of stock for easy counting and loading with a forklift.
  • Efficient and effective loading and off-loading of all vehicles.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the store and premises.
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Following security measures to prevent theft and damage to goods.
  • Performing other general store duties as required.
  • Handling freight, including lifting heavy goods, as part of daily operations.

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid Grade 10/12 certificate with a minimum of 23 points.
  • 1-2 years of practical experience in a similar role.
  • Preference will be given to male candidates.
  • Knowledge of animal feed is advantageous.
  • Proven computer skills.
  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken English and Afrikaans.
  • Willingness to work overtime and shifts as required.
  • Must be physically fit to handle freight.
