Driver – Distribution Centre Hardap  Hardap

1. Main Function of the Role


The primary responsibility of the Driver at the Distribution Center in Hardap is to ensure the safe, secure, and efficient handling, loading, transportation, and off-loading of consignments. The incumbent will also maintain the operational integrity and functionality of vehicles while adhering to all relevant safety and administrative protocols.

 

2. Key Performance Areas (KPAs)

  • Operational Duties:
    • Supervise the loading and off-loading of consignments.
    • Ensure proper documentation is received and accurately completed from clients.
    • Adhere to operational procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Vehicle Maintenance:
    • Regularly inspect and maintain the vehicle to ensure it remains in excellent condition.
    • Promptly report any mechanical issues or damage to the vehicle.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure a valid driver’s license and Professional Driving Permit (PDP) are up to date.
    • Comply with all road, health, and safety regulations.
  • Administrative Functions:
    • Complete all administrative tasks accurately and timeously as instructed by the Manager.
  • General Duties:
    • Perform other duties aligned with the responsibilities of a Driver as needed.

 

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Requirement: Grade 10/12 with a minimum of 23 points.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of relevant applied experience in a similar role.
  • Licensing:
    • Valid Code CE driver’s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
    • Police clearance certificate confirming no criminal record.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and reliability in handling consignments and completing documentation.

  • Citizenship: Must hold Namibian citizenship.
