The ideal candidate would be responsible for:

• Full responsibility for all labour related issues including, ensuring that all positions are managed at all times.
• Dealing with all disciplinary matters appropriately and according to the   company’s disciplinary code.
• Full control of production processes and responsibility for maintaining production standards in terms of quality, process flows, volumes and food hygiene.
• Continued interaction and communication with all senior management.
• Maintaining and implementing 20 keys principles, including Health & Safety of the department.
• Adhering to Astral’s ethics policy.
• Completing daily targets set by the managers and as per production plan.
• Managing the production line and reporting any breakdowns to the maintenance team.

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

• A Matric Certificate / Equivalent.
• Relevant diploma would be advantageous.
• 2 – 3 years’ experience in a production environment.
• Must be prepared to work shifts.
• Good supervisory and interpersonal skills.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must be able to work independently and cope well under pressure.
• Manage staff professionally and lead by example.
