Botswana Medical Aid Society is a not-for-profit healthcare Fund registered in 1969 as a Society under the Laws of the Republic of Botswana. This makes it the oldest medical aid service provider in the country.  The Fund was established by a consortium which initially drew its membership from audit firms, parastatals and banking organisations. It has over 45 years grown to be an integral part of the lives of many and has become the medical aid to be trusted, ensuring security and peace of mind for its members. Bomaid has over time experienced substantial membership growth and to date has 39, 622 principal members and 87, 486 covered lives (as at December 2018), making it the largest open medical aid fund in the country with a market share of approximately 55%
