Finance Manager - Agrimark Head Office  Windhoek

1. Main Function of the Role

The Finance Manager will oversee daily operations of the finance function at Agrimark Head Office, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager. The primary function is to implement and improve systems, policies, and processes that ensure sound financial monitoring, accountability, and operational efficiency. This role plays a key part in supporting senior management through financial insights and strategic analysis.

 

2. Key Performance Areas

  • Financial Data Management: Compile, review, and escalate daily/monthly financial data, ensuring accuracy and timely corrections.
  • Transaction Monitoring: Oversee day-to-day financial transactions and ensure strict budget adherence.
  • Month-End Close Process: Manage monthly close cycles, including preparation of management reports.
  • Branch Performance Review: Analyse branch-level performance and provide insights to senior management.
  • Risk & Controls: Identify financial risks and implement systems, policies, and controls to mitigate them.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Accounts Payable Review: Verify monthly accounts payable reconciliations and ensure timely, accurate payments.
  • Reporting: Assist with audit preparation, annual accounts, and board/statutory reporting.
  • Team Management: Lead the finance team, foster engagement, and drive staff development through SMART planning.
  • Senior Support: Deliver financial and analytical support to both senior management and the wider business.

 

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary Qualification:
    • BCompt degree with minimum 5 years’ relevant experience, or
    • Honours degree with minimum 3 years’ relevant experience.
  • Professional Experience:
    • At least 3–5 years in a Finance Manager role.
    • Advantageous: Experience in agriculture or retail management/operations.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Namibian citizenship.
    • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
