Role Purpose
To manage a group or category of products for our Company. The incumbent will be responsible for the pricing and overall promotion of a product to maximize consumer appeal.
Key responsibilities include:
• Analyze data or insights to determine industry and customer trend
• Devise long-term development strategies for unsuccessful products
• Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products
• Foster trust relationships with suppliers to achieve better pricing and quality of services
• Place appropriate orders to ensure product availability that meets consumer demands
• Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility
• Liaise with sales and marketing staff to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category
• Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand the product range
• Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory
• Assume responsibility for budget development and revenue/GP for categories
• Supervise and manage subordinates’ human resources-related matters
• Attending stock takes
• Administrative and related tasks pertaining to the above
• Perform tasks delegated by Senior Management within the scope of Business Activities
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:
• A valid Grade 12 (with at least 23 points)
• Diploma in commerce/retail/business management
• 2-5 years experience in a procurement retail environment
• High general and verbal intelligence
• High numeric, analytical, and computer literacy
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Problem-solving, time management, planning, and organizing skills
• Knowledge of the procurement process
• Self-starter, contender, dependability
• Decisive, visionary developer, prospector, proactive, planner, and initiator
• Motivator, people-oriented, assertor, and willingness to deal with conflict
• Valid Code BE driver’s license
• Namibian Citizenship
