Optimi is looking to hire a highly motivated individual to join the team as a Temporary Grade 4 – 5 Mathematics teacher. The ideal candidate should be able to engage in class teaching, including the academic, administrative, educational, and disciplinary aspects. Additionally, they should be capable of organising extra and co-curricular activities to ensure the holistic development of Arrow Academy’s learners.
 
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor of Education in Intermediate-Senior Phase.
  • At least 2 years experience in teaching Mathematics.
  • Proficient in English, both verbally and in written communication.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ClassDojo.
DUTIES
  • Curriculum Development: Designing and developing curriculum content that aligns with grade-level standards and learning objectives, integrating e-learning and offline resources.
  • Instructional Planning: Creating lesson plans incorporating in-person instruction, online activities, and independent study. This may involve selecting appropriate digital tools and resources to enhance learning.
  • Technology Integration: Utilising educational technology tools and platforms to facilitate instruction, engage students, and assess learning outcomes. 
  • Differentiated Instruction: Tailoring instruction to meet the diverse needs of students by providing individualised learning pathways, offering supplementary materials, and adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Facilitation of Activities: Guiding students through assignments, discussions, and collaborative projects while providing support and feedback.
  • Classroom Management: Establishing and maintaining a conducive learning environment, ensuring student safety, and promoting positive behaviour.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Implementing various assessment strategies to evaluate student progress and understanding, including formative and summative assessments. Provide timely feedback to students to support their learning journey.
  • Professional Development: Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay updated on best practices in blended learning, educational technology trends, and pedagogical approaches.
  • Communication with Stakeholders: Collaborating with parents/guardians, administrators, and other stakeholders to communicate student progress, share instructional goals, and address concerns or challenges.
  • Data Analysis: Analysing student data from assessments to identify areas for improvement, track student growth, and inform instructional decisions. To perform or assist with one or more of other non-teaching administrative duties.
  • Performance Review: To participate in agreed school/educator appraisal processes to regularly review their professional practice to improve teaching, learning, and management.
