Business Sales Manager - Brokers  Gaborone

Job Summary:

The role exists to drive company profitability, value of new business & annual premium equivalent to increase and retain market share through needs based financial advice, fostering a profitable relationship with Brokers & Corporate Agencies, pay points, worksites, and other critical stakeholders within the region. The role also exists to support Botswana Life's strategy as set by the executive, continuously review Botswana Life's position in the market against competitors to reposition its offerings and brand in line with the company vision, mission, and strategic intent.  

Key Performance Areas
Planning

  • Draws and Implements Broker sales target achievement strategies to support the successful achievement of the Distribution strategy
  • Develop a value proposition for Brokers and corporate agencies so they are competent to serve Botswana Life clientele

Business Results

  • Drives exceptional sales performance for Broker, develops effective business and sales tactics and plans, including identification of target market and market segmentation in line with BLIL strategies
  • Draws plans on acquisition of new clients and ensures achievement of set objectives
  • Drives product mix sales tactics at national level, in order to positively influence operational profitability, growth of VNB, APE, and market share
  • Tracking of sales activity and overall broker performance  and coming up with initiatives to close the identified gaps
  • Develops sales processes to meet sales business quality
  • Monitors new business onboarding queries and ensure achievement of set targets
  • Prepares management reports for the region.

Business Relationship

  • Engages both internal and external  stakeholders to improve relationships.
  • Develops growth plans for brokers and agencies to increase profitability.
  • Oversees relationships with pay-points and other critical stakeholders to facilitate improved business undertaking and business growth.

Budget/Cost Management

  • Manages the Broker expense within budgets
  • Prepares the annual income and expense budgets, monitor and measure performance and monitors the regions unit expenditure and ensures  the implementation of prudent cost management tactics

Governance and Quality Assurance

  • Ensures adherence to internal and external policies which support the Distribution sales  environment
  • Ensures delivery of operational services in accordance with Service Level Agreements established within the business
  • Ensures adherence to regulation, risk management tactics and laid out processes, guidelines  and procedures

People Management

  • Ensures adherence to the current Performance Management System guidelines as set out by Group policy.
  • Manages departmental leave  in accordance with policies
  • Ensures application of the terms and conditions of service and manages staff motivation, treating grievances, and discipline accordingly.
  • Business Continuity
  • Ensure the whole regions readiness in case of disaster by implementing set business continuity tactics
  • To review and update the Business Continuity Plan on a monthly basis

Experience/ Qualification

  • Degree in Business Management or equivalent
  • Associate in Insurance
  • 8 years experience in the financial services environment in a managerial role
  • Long term COP
