MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• Analyse business needs and coordinate the development and implementation of information systems and innovations to improve the efficiency of the organisation as it implements its strategic imperatives based on best practice project management.
• Analyse, implement, monitor, troubleshoot, maintain and support IT business information systems including associated servers, and hardware in order to meet business needs of the organisation and scale as it grows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with Management to prioritize business goals and information needs to ensure agreement on system principles.
• Manage setup and configurations of systems for ease of use and the provision of systems support to users.
• Translation of highly technical specifications into non- technical requirements, write up and avail up to date system documentation and manuals to guide system users.
• Manage the smooth running of systems by determining, analysing problems and checking applications and system errors.
• Analyse and produce Statement of User Requirements (SOUR) and terms of reference for system’s needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

• At least a Degree in a computer related field from a recognised institution or any other equivalent qualification acceptable to BQA.
• Professional certification relevant to systems development.

Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in systems design and administration in a multi-user environment

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Knowledge of systems design and administration
• Knowledge of the Education and Training sector (including policies, strategies, legislations, and regulations) in Botswana (added advantage)
