Astral, a leading South African integrated poultry producer, has a Fitter opportunity at County Fair, Primary Processing Plant in Fisantekraal. The purpose of the Fitter is to uphold and maintain the standards required by County Fair; to maintain the safety and health standards of the company and comply with occupational health and safety act that is available on site. The ideal candidate would be responsible for: General machining work in the workshop Preventative and routine maintenance and fault finding on mechanical processing equipment General plant maintenance (put, gearboxes, bearings) Attending to all unscheduled processing interruptions resulting from breakdowns Installation of processing equipment Manage all resources for the maximum benefit of the company Maintaining and adhering to the 20 Keys / HACCP / Risk Control and apply general housekeeping rules The successful candidate must meet the following requirements: Completed N3 Mechanical qualification Be in possession of a Trade Certificate as a Fitter At least 5 year’s factory maintenance Experience in mechanical maintenance / repair of poultry processing and rendering plant equipment will be a distinct advantage Must have own reliable transport Must be willing to do shift work including working extra hours Computer literacy - Microsoft Office We offer a competitive total cost to company salary package.
