Responsibilities                          

  • In collaboration with regional philanthropy leads (US, Europe and Middle East), develop proposals in response to funding opportunities from corporate, individual, family office or other philanthropic entities.               
  • Gather required data for timely submission of reports for grants that were received.
  • Complete assigned grants timeously before deadlines.
  • Writing grant proposals and letters of inquiry for corporate, private and other philanthropies.
  • Grant reporting and prioritization.
  • Route grant agreements for execution and timeous submission.
  • Work with relevant business functions that include finance, program and HR teams for critical program information & prioritization.
  • Track and inform the Chief Development Officer of the status of grant proposals.
  • Follow up letters on denials and/or successful funding requests.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of paper and electronic filing systems, tracking grants and related data.
  • Create and oversee funding/grant database and tracking systems.
  • Using salesforces to provide updated monthly reports on grants - written, pending, denied and projection of receipt of funds.
  • Using agency resources (both financial and non-financial) prudently.
  • Acknowledge and follow financial policies of the agency.
  • Represent ForAfrika in a positive and professional manner in meetings, community events and conferences.
  • Collaborate and communicate with all ForAfrika staff and donors to remain consistent in policies and procedures regarding item solicitations.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of winning proposals for mission driven organizations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business Administration or related field.                    

Experience:

Previous program implementation experience in Africa is not a requirement but will be advantageous             

Systems:          

The successful incumbent must be fluent in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint & Outlook) as well as experience with related database applications, such as Raisers Edge and GrantHub.
