Role purpose:

Globetom is looking for recent graduates to participate in our internship program and gain the experience and skills they need to build the foundation for a career in various fields of software engineering.

Through the Yes 4 Youth program, the successful candidates will have the opportunity to complete a full-time practical internship and develop themselves through various training initiatives.

Position Focus:

We are looking for individuals interested in the following career paths:

  • Software Engineering
  • Data Science/Analytics
  • DevOps
  • Quality Assurance (with a Development focus)
  • Support Engineering

Required Experience:

Applicants do not need any formal work experience but should be enthusiastic, willing to learn, and have a go-getter-type attitude.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, or any other relevant degree.
  • Must be between the ages of 18 – 25.
  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be available full-time to attend practical work at the Globetom offices (Final year students may be considered).
  • Must be currently unemployed (ie. The candidate should not resign from a current position in order to participate in the internship program).
  • Must not have participated in the Yes 4 Youth program for longer than 8 months on a previous occasion.
  • Must be willing to sign an affidavit confirming that they meet the above requirements.

Required competencies:

  • Analytical, creative, adaptable, resourceful, and innovative.
  • Strong problem-solving skills required, and ability to follow tasks through to completion.
  • Excellent organization skills, multitasking ability, and manage time effectively by placing the right focus on value-adding operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Showcase adept client-relationship management capabilities.

Additional information:

  • Hybrid working model. You will be required to come to the office from time to time as agreed within your team. This is anticipated to be at most twice per week.
  • You will be required to submit weekly timesheets as part of our self-management by weekly objectives culture.
  • This role is an internship position that will automatically terminate at the end of the 12-month program. No expectation of permanent employment should be fostered by successful candidates.
