The ideal candidate would be responsible for:
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on the ammonia refrigeration.
Plants and equipment (Mechanical & Electrical).
• Attend to breakdowns on plant and equipment.
• Training of artisans and operators to run an efficient and safe refrigeration plant.
• Ensure plants and refrigeration equipment are properly and safely maintained.
• Ensure air compressors and receivers are properly and safely maintained.
• Issue and close out work permits.
• Identifying critical spares requirements.
• Work closely with major suppliers and manage SLAs
• Site water chlorination maintenance.
• Compliance with the requirements of the OHSACT.
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:
• Must be a qualified Electrician with 10 years working experience in poultry industry.
• 5 years working experience on instrumentation and PLCs.
• 5 years supervision experience in planned routine and preventative maintenance. (Foreman level)
• Experience in the safe operation of ammonia plants (CAT B8 registered preferred)
• Experience in the Food Processing Industry would be an added advantage;
• Must be computer literate and have good communication skills;
• Must be self-disciplined and self-motivated;
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends and public holidays if necessary.
