Role Purpose:
  • The ICT Technician's role is to support all users, workstations, printers, and network infrastructure.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Matric Certificate
  • A+/N+ Certification
Experience Requirements:
  • 3 years experience in an IT support environment
  • Exposure to Marel equipment will be an advantage
  • Computer Literacy in using
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Windows 10
    • McAfee
  • Expertise in:
    • HP, Dell and IBM computer hardware
    • Networking
    • Switches: HP & Aruba
    • Label Printers
    • Exposure to wireless communication and security

Main Responsibilities (although not limited to):

  • Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers, etc.). Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards, etc.) to ensure functionality.
  • Supporting Shop floor equipment and software in the factory.
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications. Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability.
  • Providing user support and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.
  • Maintained records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues and ensuring electrical safety standards are met.
  • Conducting daily backup operations and managing technical documentation.
  • Ensure the security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
  • Ensure the confidentiality and reliability of intellectual property.
  • Basic understanding and implementation of the 20 keys concept.
