Optimi is looking to hire an individual with extensive experience in copywriting to join the team. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and deadline-driven. The successful candidate will assist the business with professional writing, editing, and proofreading.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree or honours in communication/journalism/languages or related field.
• 5 to 10 years of copywriting experience.
• Proven experience in writing for different mediums (digital, print, social media, etc.). Please submit a portfolio of writing samples along with your CV.
• Experience in any of the following industries: Sales/Marketing/Public Relations/Advertising.
• Understanding of social media and its role in communication and marketing.
• Computer literate.
• Valid driver’s licence with own vehicle.

DUTIES

• Write and create creative content for various platforms, including marketing campaigns, social media, internal and external communications, website content, blog articles, etc.
• Improve readability and clarity of all communication and marketing material.
• Be a custodian of the company's language style guide and tone of voice.
• Write, edit, and proofread in both English and Afrikaans, focusing on correct grammar and spelling.
• Translate English copy to Afrikaans and vice versa.
• Keep up to date with the latest copywriting trends and techniques.
• Participate in setting communication plans and strategies.
• Adhoc support to management and the rest of the business.

 

This position is based in Centurion.
