Job Summary:

An Accounts Clerk is responsible for providing financial and administrative support to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely processing of financial transactions within the organisation. The role involves maintaining financial records, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and assisting with general accounting tasks. An Accounts Clerk works closely with the finance team to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards, while contributing to the smooth operation of daily financial activities.

Key Responsibilities:Β 

  • Reconcile Bank accounts daily with the GL and bank statements
  • Process Bank Journals as required
  • Balance petty cash to GL accounts daily
  • Maintain filling system daily
  • Capture petty cash summaries onΒ KerridgeΒ and allocate expenses
  • Timely and accurate posting of general ledger transactions
  • Preparation of recons for month end and year end file

Educational Background and Experience:

Β 

  • Must have completed Grade 11 (New Curriculum) or Grade 12 (NSSC-O) with 22 marks.
  • Degree in Accounting
  • Β Β Β Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Accounts Clerk.
  • Β Β Β Ability to prepare, understand and interpret General Ledger and bank reconciliations
  • Computer literate advance Excel skills – knowledge of the β€œKerridge” computer system and doing Expenses will be an added advantage
