1. Main Function of the Role

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for overseeing the receiving process to ensure all incoming stock is processed efficiently, verified for quality and quantity, and accurately recorded. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the operational efficiency of the organization.

 

2. Key Performance Areas

  • Stock Processing:
    • Receive and process all incoming stock efficiently.
    • Implement strict opening and closing controls at the Receiving Point.
  • Verification:
    • Verify the quality and quantity of products received against the Order and Delivery Notes.
  • Administration:
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all receiving activities.
    • Ensure proper filing and storage of delivery-related documents.
  • Collaboration and Compliance:
    • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth stock processing and adherence to company policies.
    • Maintain ethical standards and compliance with safety protocols.
    • Implement strict opening and closing controls at the Receiving Point

 

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed Grade 11 (New Curriculum) or Grade 12 with a minimum of 22 marks.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Receiving within the Building or Retail industry.
  • Computer proficiency is required, with knowledge of the Kerridge computer system being an added advantage.
