Job Summary:

This role manages the procurement and supply chain activities for the Hardware and PPE category. It includes sourcing and procuring all Hardware and PPE products, negotiating pricing, and managing suppliers across all branches. The role also oversees and supports the procurement team to ensure efficient performance within set benchmarks. Additionally, it optimizes stock availability, reduces aged stock, and improves stock turns, sales, and product group margins.

Key Responsibilities:Β 

  • Responsible for the procuring of all Hardware and PPE category
  • Negotiate prices on Hardware and PPE category
  • Source products and suppliers for all branches
  • Oversee the buying function within prescribed benchmarks at the best prices possible
  • Optimize stock availability and minimize aged stock and so improve STR and sales for MPS
  • Optimize product group margins
  • Team Management

Β 

Educational Background and Experience:

  • Minimum Grade 11 (New Curriculum) or Grade 12Β Β Β Β Β  (NSSC-O) with 22 marks.
  • Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field will be an advantage.
  • 5+ years of experience in retail or supply chain management,Β specifically in Hardware & PPE
  • Possession of a valid Code B Drivers’ License.

  • Strong Numeracy skills.
  • Strong Negotiation and Interpersonal skills
  • Strong Product and Supplier knowledge,
  • knowledge of computerized procurement
  • systems, knowledge of trading and
  • logistics environment of a builder’s
  • merchant.
