Job Summary:

The Hardware Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department, ensuring effective merchandising, inventory control, staff supervision, and exceptional customer service. This role ensures that all departmental activities are carried out in alignment with the Group’s Safety and Health Policy.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Ensure department is clean, tidy, and ready for operations, check staff attendance.
• Oversee merchandising, stock displays, and product replenishment.
• Manage stock levels, conduct counts, and identify obsolete or damaged items.
• Assist customers with product advice, pricing, and availability.
• Supervise staff performance, training, and discipline; manage leave and appraisals.
• Handle telesales, quotations, and customer orders via phone or fax.
• Ensure accurate invoicing and assist in resolving cashier issues.
• Provide general customer service and participate in stock-takes as needed.

 

Educational Background and Experience:

• Must have completed Grade 11 (New Curriculum) or Grade 12 (NSSC-O) with 22 marks.
• 3 years sales experience in hardware/Tools/Building supply industry
• Computer literate – knowledge of the ‘’Kerridge’’ computer system will be an added advantage
• Must be willing to work retail hours
