1. Main Function of the Role
The Retail Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing the overall retail operations of the Windhoek Lifestyle branch. The role ensures that sales targets and profitability levels are achieved through effective store management, staff leadership, excellent customer service, and efficient stock control. The incumbent supports supplier relations, drives floor sales, oversees training and development of staff, and serves as the Second-in-Charge (2IC) to the Branch Manager while ensuring smooth daily operational performance.

2. Key Performance Areas
Retail Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Retail Shop, Receiving, and Dispatch.
- Ensure operational processes support the achievement of budget and profitability targets.
- Maintain high store presentation standards to enhance customer experience.
Sales & Customer Service
- Drive floor sales and ensure exceptional customer service across all touchpoints.
- Implement selling strategies that support sales growth and repeat business.
- Promote a customer-centric culture within the store.
People Management & Training
- Train, mentor, and manage retail staff to improve performance and service delivery.
- Build a strong, motivated, and sales-driven team.
- Support employee development and ensure alignment with store objectives.
Supplier & Stock Control Management
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure strong partnerships.
- Assist Buyers with supplier negotiations.
- Oversee stock control processes to maintain 100% stock availability.
Administration & Reporting
- Handle all store administration requirements in line with company policies.
- Assist the Branch Manager with departmental reporting, planning, and operational coordination.
- Act as Second-in-Charge (2IC) to the Branch Manager when required.

3. Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Educational Requirement:
- Grade 11 (New Curriculum) or Grade 12 (NSSC-O) with at least 22 marks.
- Preferred Qualification:
- Bachelorβs Degree in Sales and Marketing (advantageous).
- Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 5 yearsβ experience in:
- Managerial roles
- Sales merchandising
- Buying
- Administration
- Yard operations
- Within the Retail or Construction industry
- Other Requirements:
- Valid Code B Driverβs License (essential).
