The cold storage of fruit forms an important part of our operations. We have extensive ammonia refrigeration facilities including Regular Atmosphere as well as Controlled Atmosphere cold storage with several Ammonia Plant rooms. We require the services of a suitable artisan, preferably in possession of a Grade 12 or NTC 3 (relevant trade). Valid CAT A or B in Safe handling of ammonia (preferable).

Experience of Ammonia refrigeration installations will be an advantage.

The successful candidate will accept responsibility for the following:

• Maintenance of ammonia refrigeration equipment (pumps, water pumps, ammonia refrigeration compressors, ammonia valve stations etc.); troubleshooting on ammonia refrigeration equipment.
• Maintenance and monitoring of Regular, Dynamic and controlled atmosphere cold stores to operate within protocols.
• Adhere to OHS Act standards and best practices.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in similar industry.
• Must be mechanically strong and electrically skilled.
• Continuous inspections and record keeping of maintenance, and safety systems.
• Alternate standby function (after hours and weekends).
