County Fair, a division of Astral Operations Limited has this opportunity for a Production Manager based at the Primary Processing Plant in Kliphewel, Fisantekraal in the Western Cape.

Qualifications:

  • A minimumΒ grade 12 qualification
  • A tertiary qualification in production will be a great advantage

Experience:

  • At least 5 years experience in a food manufacturing/processing plant.Β Β 
  • Previous experience in a management roleΒ 
  • Experience in the poultry industry will be a great advantage
  • Proficient with MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in working inΒ an ERP system, e.g. LN System
  • Experienced in working with time and attendance systems and shift pattern rostersΒ 

Other requirements:

  • Shift work
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans; an additional language will be a great advantage
  • Able to work in a complex environment with good time management and orgnanisational skills
  • Able to manage a highly mechanized and labour-intensiveΒ environment
  • Able to multitask, be self-motivated and have good interpersonal and staff management skills
  • Able to keep staff motivated to achieve production goalsΒ  and maintainΒ a well-disciplined team
  • A valid driver's license and own transport is essential
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining the 20-keys program

The ideal candidate would be responsible for:

  • Managing the all floor activities in the processing plant
  • Responsible for the day to day routine inspections.
  • Produce products according to the weekly production plan
  • Managing of production supervisors and their daily activities
  • Responsible for reaching daily targets on production lines as per plan
  • Responsible for yield, give-away and efficiencies of machinery.
  • Managing of daily authorised labour compliment.
  • Monitor and improve the efficiency of production activities and materials
  • Responsible for walk-the-floor programs and coaching sessions
  • Maintaining and conducting discipline in theΒ area of responsibility.
  • Maintaining good manufacturing practice, ensuring good hygieneΒ  andΒ product quality.
