Apprenticeship opportunities for 2026

Gold One New Shelf 1186 (Gedex) Operations is a gold mine situated in Brakpan in Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, approximately 30kms east of Johannesburg in the Gauteng Province.  For the Financial Year 2026, Gedex Operation is offering opportunities to external candidates to apply for the below apprenticeship positions.

• INSTRUMENTATION
• FITTER
• EARTHMOVING MECHANICS
• BOILERMAKING
• ELECTRICAL
• AUTO ELECTRICAL

Requirements:

• Completed N2 or NCV Level 4 (All copies of certificates & ID must be SAPS Certified 3-month-old & must be pdf format).
• Interpersonal communication skills are required and essential.
• Flexibility is required and essential (able to work rotation shifts).
• Proof of residence is required (Water and Rates letter with corresponding surnames). Preference would be given to those from within Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality – (Municipal Wards 71, 72, 73, 75, and 97) as immediate mine hosting communities.This however does not imply exclusion of other deserving potential candidates from within the Far East Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.
• Must be able to work underground.
• South African Citizenship.
• Clear Criminal Record (Candidates will be subjected criminal screening prior to engagement).
• All candidates must be medically fit.
• Must be below 35 years old.
