1. Main Function of the Role
The Estimator is responsible for determining the costs associated with construction projects by preparing accurate bills of quantities and pricing them effectively. The role includes advising customers on product choices and alternatives to optimize project costs while maintaining quality. Additionally, the Estimator maintains pricing records and ensures proper filing of job sheets, quotes, and tenders.
2. WHAT WILL YOU DO:
- To establish cost of quantities of plans and to price bills of quantities to meet customer requirements.
- Perform site inspections, do progress claims for bank payments, manage accounts and overseeing project procurement.
- Provide customers with advice on products to use including alternatives to make project less costly.
- Update price list on the computer
3. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• Excellent numeracy skills.
• Language proficiency.
• Knowledge in building materials.
• Should be computer literate.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Grade 12 with Mathematics as a subject.
• Diploma or Degree in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying.
• 2 years Estimating experience.
