Purpose

The primary purpose of the Driver role is to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of customer orders while maintaining product integrity and excellent service standards. During non-driving intervals, the incumbent will perform general warehouse duties, including forklift driving, stock handling, packing, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

 

Requirements

• Completed NSSCO/NSSCAS or Grade 12.
• Code CE Driver's License, with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Minimum 1 -2 year’s similar driving experience.
• Strong customer-service orientation, with a neat, professional and presentable appearance.
• A clean driving record and safe, law-abiding driving behaviour.
• High level of reliability, accountability and ownership.

 

Key Result Areas

• Deliver goods to the customer’s address promptly, safely and responsibly.
• Verify and check all delivery documentation for accuracy before delivery.
• Perform daily vehicle checks/inspections and report any abnormalities.
• Deliver a high level of customer service during deliveries.
• Ensuring goods are loaded correctly, stacked safely and securely tied before departure.  
• Adhere to road safety rules and company driving policies.
• Report returned/broken goods.
• Partake in annual stock takes and preparations prior to stock takes.

 

Personal

• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must be a self-starter, flexible and energetic, also being able to work in a team and individually with the right integrity
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping is a MUST.
• Protect the safety of the driver, the goods, other road users and public always.
