1. Main Function of the Role

The Foreman: Service is responsible for the overall supervision and management of workshop operations to ensure efficient scheduling, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction. This role plays a critical part in overseeing technicians, managing workflow, and achieving budget targets while maintaining high standards of vehicle service and repair.

 

2. Key Performance Areas

•Overall supervision of workshop related matters
•Daily scheduling and allocating  of job to Technicians
•Perform quality control on vehicles before leaving the workshop, including test drives
•Assist technicians with major diagnoses
•Continuous updating of vehicle progress to the Service Advisor
•Assist with the compilation of quotes for clients
•Assist Service Advisor in tracking of all parts ordered
•Follow-up on Work-in-Progress and sublet orders
•Keep track of technicians training and development
•Responsible for planning and achieving budget hours

 

3. Qualifications and Experience

•Minimum 5 years’ experience as an auto mechanic or 3 years in a similar role
•Understanding of technical, commercial and administrative aspects of the motor and service industry
•Adequate computer literacy in MS Office package
•Valid driver’s license.
•Proficiency in English and Afrikaans
