Rainbow Chicken, a standalone entity emerging from RCL FOODS Group, is seeking a dynamic IT Executive to spearhead the transformation of our IT investments and operations to support the move of the business into a real time data lead organisation. This pivotal role involves managing the transition from the current shared IT environment to an independent, robust IT setup for Rainbow Chicken. We are looking for an innovative leader who can navigate change, drive technological advancements, and align IT systems with our business strategy.

Purpose of role:

Lead the IT transformation journey for Rainbow Chicken, including the development and execution of a comprehensive IT Applications, Infrastructure and Data/BI roadmap to support business growth and operational efficiency through accurate and timeous information in the right hands. Implement and run the technology management function balancing internal and external resources to operate the IT landscape cost effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience at a senior level in food/beverage or agriculture environments – with deep business process understanding

  • A 3-year degree in Information Technology or Business Management will be required.

  • Master’s Degree Preferred.

  • A minimum of 10 - 12 years’ experience is required in a similar field with at least 5 years in senior IT management capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • STRATEGIC THOUGHT LEADERSHIP: Collaborate with Rainbow Exco and the Head of Strategic Transformation to develop and refine the organisation's IT Applications, Infrastructure and Data/BI strategy, ensuring it aligns with the broader business strategy and priorities. This includes setting strategic priorities, defining key performance indicators (KPIs), and tracking progress.

  • BUSINESS ALIGNMENT: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to ensure that IT initiatives are aligned with their needs and priorities. Promote the role of IT as an enabler of business processes. Engagement with senior stakeholders to determine IT priorities within business/group functions.

  • PROJECT DELIVERY: Oversee the IT project portfolio. Ensure projects are well-defined, adequately resourced, and completed on time and within budget. Work closely with the head of Strategic Transformation to plan, scope, prioritise and deliver the IT components, dependencies and enablers of strategic business improvement projects within the Strategic Transformation office portfolio.

  • LEADERSHIP: Provide management and leadership to the IT team, working with the IT team to define objectives and performance goals. Address performance issues and ensure a positive working environment that promotes productivity and staff morale.

  • VENDOR ENABLEMENT: Maintain relationships with key Application and Technology vendors, suppliers, and strategic partners. Evaluate potential partners and suppliers, negotiate contracts, and oversee vendor performance to ensure service levels are met.

  • IT FINANCE AND BUDGETING: Work with the CFO to compile and manage the IT department's budget, ensuring it aligns with organisational strategic priorities. Monitor expenses, ensure compliance, and proactively address budget variances.

  • IT COMPLIANCE: Ensure the organisation's IT initiatives comply with internal standards, legislation, and corporate governance frameworks. Collaborate with the Financial Director / CFO to manage IT controls and oversee information security and compliance efforts

  • IT COMPLIANCE: Collaborate with the CFO to identify and manage risks related to IT systems, data security, networks, and maintenance. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.

  • IT COMPLIANCE: Ensure that IT policies and procedures align with the organization's strategic business objectives, drive adherence to IT policies and standards.

  • IT OPERATIONAL GOVERNANCE: Oversee change management processes related to IT initiatives, ensuring a smooth transition during transformation projects, new acquisitions, and technology and application changes.

  • IT OPERATIONAL GOVERNANCE: Ensure all IT documentation related to quality assurance and configuration is in place. Ensure adherence to standards and regulatory requirements. Support audit processes and maintain relevant documentation.
