1. Main Function of the Role

The Junior Volunteer Liaison supports the Volunteer Team by coordinating and engaging volunteers on a daily basis. The role ensures volunteers feel welcomed, informed, and motivated while assisting with operational and administrative tasks to maintain smooth volunteer management processes. This position contributes to creating a positive and productive volunteer experience while supporting the overall goals of the organisation.

2. Key Performance Areas

  • Volunteer Onboarding & Support

    • Welcome and orientate new volunteers upon arrival.

    • Guide volunteers through policies, procedures, and safety rules.

    • Provide ongoing guidance and support with daily tasks and schedules.

  • Volunteer Engagement & Communication

    • Act as the first point of contact for volunteer queries.

    • Share updates, instructions, and announcements clearly.

    • Encourage teamwork, collaboration, and positive engagement.

  • Administration & Logistics

    • Assist with creating and managing volunteer activity rosters.

    • Maintain accurate volunteer attendance and participation records.

    • Distribute volunteer kits, uniforms, or information packs.

    • Support logistics such as transfers, accommodation, and meal times.

    • Update communication platforms (WhatsApp groups, noticeboards, etc.).

  • Monitoring & Reporting

    • Report volunteer concerns and feedback to management.

    • Record volunteer hours and prepare simple reports.

    • Learn from senior staff to develop effective volunteer management skills.

  • Representation & Compliance

    • Represent the organisation positively at all times.

    • Uphold safety, respect, and confidentiality policies.

    • Encourage participation in events, upsell opportunities, and extra activities.

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Education Qualification: Not required.

  • Preferred Education Qualification(s): N/A.

  • Certifications / Licenses: Not required.

  • Experience Required: 2 – 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Preferred Industry/Experience: Tourism sector or related volunteer/liaison experience.

  • Organised, reliable, and proactive with a strong sense of responsibility.

  • Basic administrative and record-keeping abilities.

  • Previous volunteer experience (advantageous but not essential).

  • Ability to represent the organisation positively, fostering inclusivity and motivation among volunteers
