Purpose of the position:

Assist the Manager: Risk with implementing and maintaining a company-wide risk management function that will enable the systematic identification and assessment of risks; development and determination of risk prevention and mitigation solutions and response strategies, as well as the effective review, monitoring, and reporting of the organisational risk activities.

Key performance areas:

1.Risk Management

  • Assist with the development of a risk framework and related procedures
  • Assist in the development of processes to identify and evaluate business areas risks.

2. Fraud Prevention and Investigations

  • Reviews Fraud prevention plan on an ongoing basis
  • Develops, material for fraud awareness on an ongoing basis and in accordance with the fraud prevention plan.

3. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Conducts risk awareness amongst employees and relevant stakeholders.
  • Establishes and nurtures relationships with internal and external stakeholders to stay abreast with contemporary and emerging corporate governance and risk.

4. Administration and Reporting

  • Consolidates risk of all departments into centrally controlled risk registers.
  • Assist in reviewing and evaluating policy and procedural frameworks governing the risk
  • functions and identify areas which require changes or amendments.

Qualification Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in risk management/accounting / Auditing, NQF level 7
  • Postgraduate qualification in Risk Management, Knowledge of Barn Owl Software would be an added advantage
  • Experience and special knowledge requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years relevant working experience of which at least three (3) years in a risk management /compliance/investigations/assessment /governance or audit.
