CYMOT (Pty) Ltd, Namibia's leading retailer in motor spares, camping, tools and machinery, personal protective equipment and automotive paint, seeks a dedicated Learning and Development Officer to join our dynamic team. What You'll Do

  • Coordinate talent management activities including the preparation of branch-specific training plans and budgets.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that enhance employee skills in current roles while building a sustainable talent pipeline.
  • Conduct and support Training Needs Analysis (TNA) in collaboration with line management.
  • Schedule and coordinate training in line with the annual training plans and agreed budgets.
  • Provide guidance to employees on suitable learning and development opportunities and aligned to career growth.
  • Support management in identifying organisational skills gaps and implementing targeted training interventions.
  • Coordinate induction and onboarding programmes to ensure a seamless integration of new employees.
  • Prepare and manage training agreements for employees receiving financial support for studies or development interventions.
  • Maintain accurate training records on the Learning Management System (LMS). Submit annual VET levy claims for all training conducted or sourced and follow up on payments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant training authorities and frameworks (e.g. NTA, NQA).
  • Coordinate, implement, and maintain the company-wide performance management system aligned with business objectives and key performance areas.
  • Support managers and employees in understanding performance processes and development planning.
  • Compile and publish a quarterly internal newsletter highlighting training initiatives, achievements, and upcoming development opportunities.
  • Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including line managers, training providers and regulatory bodies.

 

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a passionate individual who meets the following requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • A relevant Degree in Human Resources Management/ Organisational Development/Training and Development, or related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in training, learning and talent development role within a medium-sized organization.
  • Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel to branches as required.

 

Technical & Professional Skills:

  • Sound knowledge of Adult Learning Principles and Human Resource Development (HRD) best practices.
  • Proven experience / understanding of NTA, NQA and related skills development frameworks.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with creative online tools for content creation and training materials.
  • Budget coordination and training reporting experience.
