1. Main Function of the Role

The Diagnostic Technician at Pupkewitz Toyota plays a critical role in maintaining the high standards of vehicle diagnostics and service delivery. The main function is to perform comprehensive diagnostics on vehicles, ensure accurate reporting, and support both the technical team and service advisors to maintain excellent customer experiences. The role requires staying current with the latest Toyota technologies and trends, contributing to team development, and adhering to company standards and procedures.

2. Key Performance Areas

  • Perform major diagnostics on a range of vehicles.
  • Provide exceptional customer care and assistance.
  • Write and report correctly on job cards.
  • Assist Service Advisors and the Technical Team in achieving operational goals.
  • Keep up to date with the latest Toyota technology and industry trends.
  • Meet Customer Experience (CE) targets.
  • Train and mentor technical staff.
  • Follow the β€œFix It Right” procedures to ensure quality and efficiency.

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Grade 12
  • Technical Qualifications:
    • Qualified Level 3 Technician
    • Diagnostic Technician Certification-Master (advantageous)
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years as a qualified technician
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Namibian citizenship
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Computer literate, knowledge of V10 software an advantage
    • Proficient in English and Afrikaans
    • Understanding of technical and administrative aspects of the motor and service industry
