Purpose

The Senior Sales Consultant is responsible for driving sustainable sales growth and revenue across the electrical product portfolio by identifying and developing new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong customer relationships, and delivering end-to-end solutions tailored to client needs. The role requires staying abreast of industry trends and competitor activity to inform strategic selling, while consistently exceeding customer expectations through exceptional service delivery to both new and existing clientele.

Requirements

  • Trade Diploma Electrical General or in a related field.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in electrical.
  • Retail experience will serve as an added advantage.
  • Code B Driver’s license is a MUST.
  • Low & Medium Voltage Electrification knowledge.
  • Proficiency in using an ERP/ business system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite.

Key Result Areas

  • Gather and analyse market intelligence, customer trends, and emerging technologies within the electrical industry, to support informed selling and the delivery of complete customer solutions.
  • Grow and strengthen the company’s market share within the electrical sector through strategic account management and targeted business development initiatives.
  • Manage multiple client accounts and sales projects concurrently, ensuring effective coordination, accurate communication, and timely delivery of products and solutions.
  • Take full ownership of revenue performance by consistently achieving and exceeding agreed sales targets and key performance indicators.
  • Support clients with standard and special-order sales by analysing requirements, recommending appropriate product solutions, and preparing accurate, competitive quotations.
  • Drive sustainable sales growth by proactively identifying new business opportunities, generating and converting leads, and expanding the customer base through effective relationship-building and consultative selling techniques.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with existing clients while developing new customer partnerships to ensure ongoing loyalty and brand advocacy.
  • Actively manage client accounts to ensure adherence to agreed credit terms and the timely settlement of outstanding payments.
  • Participate in annual stock takes.
