Role Purpose:

• Our Worcester Processing Plant is looking for a Millwright that will ensure that all manufacturing equipment is serviced and maintained according to specifications and in line with good engineering practices. The role will be based in Worcester, Western Cape and will report to the Plant Engineer.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Trade Tested Millwright

 

Required Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of post-trade experience working in a production line or FMCG maintenance experience
• 3 - 5 years relevant experience in maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment
• Advantage - experience in electrical breakdowns
• Advantage - experience in poultry processing equipment
• Advantage - experience in PLC and VSD
• Advantage - Knowledge in boilers, augers and conveyor systems will be an advantage
• Strong Electrical understanding within a Plant Environment (70% Electrical/30% Mechanical)

 

Required Knowledge and Skills: 

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly.
• Inspect drives, motors, belts, bearings, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions. 
• Assemble, install and/or repair, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment on steam and waterlines. 
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Projects and machine installations.
• Ability to communicate on all levels.
• Ability to work systematically.
• Ability to prioritize workload.
• Report writing and analysis.
• Mentoring apprentices.
• Must be able to work shifts and be available on callouts and standby if required
