MAIN DUTIES

β’Β Organizes the day-to-day activities of an accounting section and allocates duties according to accounting deadlines and schedules, procedures and priorities.
β’Β Monitoring and checking performance to ensure adherence to accounting standards, systems and procedures.
β’Β Liaises with individual departments to develop budgets.
β’Β Prepares consolidated draft budgets and forecasts for BQA and submit to the Manager, Finance for review.
β’Β Ensures proper maintenance of fixed assets register.
β’Β Review and advice on useful live, depreciation policies and other accounting procedures related to assets.
β’Β Liaises with administration on assets identification and movements.
β’Β Liaises with administration on disposal of obsolete assets.
β’Β Prepares monthly management accounts, financial projections, statements and reports to facilitate decision-making.
β’Β Analyzes expenditure against budget and prepares reports on variances from budget for Management and alert senior management on significant variances.
β’Β Prepares reports with analytical information and recommendations on the financial status of BQA.
β’Β Liaises with and responds to queries from Internal and External Auditors.
β’Β Prepares data for the analysis of business operations, trends, costs and revenue, to projectΒ future revenue and expenses.
β’Β Monitor payroll costs and prepare analyzes of costs as necessary.
β’Β Provides management with reports that give both strategic and operational advice to allow them to make informed business decisions.
β’Β Works with managers from the other divisions and provides advice on the financial resources based on the financial data.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
β’Β At least a Degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized institution or any other equivalent qualification acceptable to BQA.
β’Β Professional qualification e.g. ACCA or CIMA shall be an added advantage.
β’Β Registration with the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants is required.
β’Β Membership of an additional professional accounting body will be an added advantage.
Experience:Β
β’Β A minimum of 5 years accounting experience in an environment with sound background in management accounting.Β
β’ Experience working with accounting systems/applications and excel spreadsheet is mandatory.Β
β’ Experience in a commercial/parastatalΒ organization environment would be an added advantage.
