1. Main Function of the Role

The Group Senior Accountant is responsible for consolidating and managing the financial reporting of all subsidiaries within Pupkewitz Holdings. This role ensures compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, and internal controls while providing high-level financial insights to support strategic decisions. The position also acts as a key liaison between subsidiary finance teams and Group management, supporting the Group Finance Controller with performance monitoring, analysis, and reporting at Group level.

 

2. Key Performance Areas

  • Group Financial Reporting & Consolidation
    • Prepare accurate consolidated financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annually).
    • Perform intercompany reconciliations and eliminate mismatches across subsidiaries.
    • Manage timely closings and ensure reporting deadlines are met.
  • Technical Accounting & Compliance
    • Ensure IFRS compliance across all entities and maintain Group accounting policies.
    • Coordinate and manage external audit processes and respond to audit queries.
    • Oversee tax and regulatory compliance at both Group and entity levels.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
    • Consolidate Group budgets and forecasts.
    • Analyze variances and provide financial insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Internal Controls & Risk Management
    • Assess and improve internal financial controls across subsidiaries.
    • Identify risks and propose mitigation measures for financial reporting and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Liaise with subsidiary finance teams for timely data submissions.
    • Engage with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
    • Support the Group Finance Controller in board-level financial reporting.
  • Ad Hoc Financial Analysis
    • Conduct performance analyses and trend evaluations to support strategic decisions.

 

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Chartered Accountant (CA or ACCA) – mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in financial reporting, consolidations, and technical accounting.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS and audit processes.
  • Proven experience liaising with auditors, tax authorities, and regulators.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in financial systems (ERP and consolidation tools preferred).
