The ideal candidate would be responsible for:

  • Management of the Quality Technical Department on processing level and constantly striving to improve results.
  • Adherence to food safety.
  • Compliance to product quality and KPI’s.
  • Assist and facilitate internal and external certification and customer audits.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements.
  • Assist to investigate customer complaints.
  • Assist with conducting mock recalls.
  • Root cause analysis of non-conformances and implementation of preventative actions.
  • Analysis of data trending and action thereof.
  • Animal Welfare monitoring and Conducting trials for NPD.
  • System and equipment verification activities and Allergen Management.
  • Conduct daily facility inspections and report to Quality Manager.
  • Assist with new product development.
  • Coordinate change management with new processes, equipment and/or products.
  • Verify compliance to process flows and parameters conduct process validations.
  • Review of product specifications prior to management approval.
  • Alignment of process checks with process procedures.

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in Animal Science, Microbiology, Food Technology or Quality Assurance together with 5 years management/supervisory experience in Food environment.
  • It is essential that the candidate have a passion for implementing 20 keys.
  • Poultry Meat Inspector training will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in customer requirements such as PnP, YUM, McDonalds and Nando’s will be added advantage.
  • Experience with FSSC 22000 as well as Laboratory standards ISO 17025.
  • Experience with Animal Welfare standards.
  • Ideally, 5-8 years Management experience and must be able to work with a large and diverse workforce.
  • Must be proactive, have good management, communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving and planning skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must be prepared to work shifts, overtime and weekends when required to.
  • Willing to travel when required.
