Astral, a leading Southern African integrated poultry producer as a Shift Manager (Dispatch) opportunity at County Fair, Processing Plant in Fisantekraal.

The ideal candidate would be responsible for:

  • Full control of dispatch processes and responsible for maintaining production standards in terms of quality, process flows, volumes and food hygiene;
  • Minimization of damages, losses and shrinkages of products;
  • Online management of pallets and lugs on the MyCHEP account;
  • Managing the invoice procedure;
  • Managing the picking process;
  • Managing dispatch, fresh carcasses for further processing and frozen products into the retail trade;
  • Ensure logistics delivery are met daily;
  • Ensuring day-to-day Stock Take is done accurately and monthly cycle count;
  • Managing the Holding Room and Miscellaneous department by, ensuring that all pallets are properly stack, labeled and palletized;
  • Managing Fresh Epping area, ensuring that all carcasses and crates are stacked neatly and pallets are palletized;
  • Manage crate returns SOP;
  • Attend to customer queries;
  • Ensuring maximum utilization of vehicles and routes;
  • Responsible for route planning for the entire fleet for delivery for the following day;
  • Responsible for all labour-related issues, including ensuring that all positions are managed at all times;
  • Continued interaction and communication with senior management, Sales and Production;
  • Maintaining and implementing the 20 Keys principles and Health & Safety of the department.

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification;
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role and large-scale food production and processing;
  • Computer literacy – MS Office, LN & ERP system;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent administration and problem-solving skills and have attention to detail;
  • Basic understanding of the 20 Keys concept is essential;
  • Must be able to work independently and cope well under pressure;
  • Fluent in English and a second official language;
  • Be hardworking, honest and self-motivated;
  • Must have reliable transport.
