1. Main Function of the Role

Lead and oversee the daily operations of the retail shop by driving sales performance, delivering exceptional customer service, managing staff, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring efficient, compliant, and profitable store operations.

2. Key Performance Areas

Sales Performance

  • Achieve and exceed shop sales and gross profit targets.
  • Maximise sales opportunities by recommending suitable products and pricing.
  • Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.

Staff Supervision & Development

  • Supervise, motivate, and develop shop staff.
  • Allocate duties and monitor employee performance.
  • Foster teamwork and continuous employee development.

Stock & Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate stock levels and minimise stock losses.
  • Conduct stock counts and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor stock availability and coordinate replenishment.

Store Operations

  • Ensure the shop operates efficiently and complies with company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised retail environment.
  • Monitor operational standards and compliance.

Financial & Cash Control

  • Manage daily cash handling and reconciliations.
  • Safeguard company assets and financial records.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and transparency.

3. Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Namibian Citizenship.
  • Code B Driver's Licence.
  • Own reliable transport.
  • Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Further qualifications in Retail, Business, or Management will be advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' retail management experience.
  • Experience supervising and leading retail teams.
  • Experience managing sales targets, stock control, and cash handling.
  • Employment references are required.
