Main Function of the Role

To ensure timely and accurate delivery of building and hardware materials to customer’s sites, while maintaining excellent customer service standards. The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of goods, ensuring to get accurate delivery documentation back from the customer after doing a delivery, and assisting with the loading and unloading of products onto or off the truck when necessary.

Key Performance Areas

• Deliver products to customer locations in a safe, timely, and courteous manner.
• Verify and check stock quantities against customer invoices before loading and after delivery.
• Assist in the loading and offloading of goods to and from the delivery truck.
• Ensure all delivery documentation (invoices, delivery notes) is correctly completed, signed by the customer, and returned to the office.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve any delivery-related issues.
• Report any delivery discrepancies, vehicle issues, or incidents to the relevant manager immediately.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure the truck is clean, roadworthy, and compliant with legal requirements.
• Report all mechanical truck issues immediately.
• Comply with all laws when driving on public roads.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel, and delivery routes.
• Always follow company procedures when doing customer deliveries.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid Namibian Code C & CE (or higher) Driver’s Licence. matric with 23 points 
• Valid Public Driver’s Permit (PDP).
• 3-5 years experience Proven experience as a delivery truck driver (preferably in the building materials or hardware industry).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and verify invoices and delivery notes.
• Physically fit and able to lift and carry heavy items when required.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious.
