Purpose

To effectively manage and control the company’s inventory by ensuring accurate stock levels, proper storage, timely replenishment, and compliance with internal policies and procedures. The Stock Controller plays a key role in minimizing stock losses, preventing discrepancies, and supporting operational efficiency through accurate record-keeping and stock monitoring, thereby ensuring smooth operations and contributing to the achievement of overall business objectives.

 

Requirements

  • Completed NSSCO/NSSCAS or Grade 12.
  • Diploma in Business Management, Supply Chain or similar.
  • Code B Driver’s license, PDP will be an added advantage.
  • Forklift License F5 will be an added advantage.
  • One (1) years’ experience as a Stock Controller, Inventory Clerk, or similar role.
  • Electrical Products knowledge would serve as an added advantage.
  • Stock management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

 

Key Result Areas

  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments of good.
  • Organize and maintain inventory storage areas for easy access and efficient stock rotation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and generate cycle counts daily, potential shortages, and excesses.
  • Verification and investigation between physical quantities in stocks with those indicated in the soft solution and undertaking the necessary corrective measures in case of discrepancies.
  • Ensure clear communication between procurement, receiving, credit controller and stock controller in case of investigations.
  • Ensure that all items on shelves have correct stock code labels.
  • Determine layout of storage area and bin each product on the shelves as determined by product velocity and logical grouping of products.
  • Ensure stock requested from branches are correctly picked and sent timeously and with transport uplift as low as possible.
  • Ensure stock loaded for branches are securely packed to reduce damages.
  • Isolate and report damaged stock to manager.
  • Ensure warehouse is clean and all stock is located at designated areas.
  • Participate in annual stock takes.

  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, flexible and energetic.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping is a MUST.
