Job Purpose: Responsible for conducting well researched analysis of operational and financial positions of the BSE listed equities to ascertain risk drivers and recommend investment options for inclusion in the Local Equity portfolio. The role includes assisting the PM Local Equities with trade recommendation and execution of trade instructions. Key Performance Areas Research and analyse investment metrics of locally listed investment and produce in-depth reports to motivate for investment decisions. Research extends to any other possible investment idea presented to the team Contribute to the debate on investment research reports and ideas. Participate in analyst briefings and conduct face to face meetings with listed company management/executives. Closely monitor capital market developments and news to help the investment process. Propose proxy votes, along with rationales for consideration by the team, in line with Bifm’s Proxy voting policy. Update and maintain research and valuation models. Participate in the quarterly performance presentation to existing and prospective clients as and when required by the business. Contribute to monthly and quarterly client’s portfolio reports and distribute the same to relevant parties. Engagements with Brokers and execution of local equity market trades as per agreed price limitations and trading allocation guidelines. Continually look for opportunities to improve portfolio management models for accurate decision making. Assist the Portfolio Manager of Local Equities in monitoring client equity portfolios and advise the needed rebalancing trades. Contributing to portfolio compliance Qualification & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related Investment Management discipline. Professional qualification or working towards CFA, CAIA, FRM is an added advantage. Minimum of Three (3) years post qualification experience in a similar role/s Skills & Competencies Strong financial, Analytical and modelling skills. Business or commercial orientation Teamwork and excellent interpersonal skills. Client orientation Demonstrated presentation skills.
