Production Superintendent (Worcester)  Worcester

Purpose:
To oversee production (including warehouse and bagging) as well as all related projects. In addition, the role will be the assigned GMR2 for the Mill.


Requirements:
β€’ 5 to 10 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Environment at a Supervisory or Middle Management level
β€’ National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
β€’ Ability to operate as GMR2
β€’ Sound Leadership and Management Skills. Preferably within a Unionised Environment
β€’ Computer literate in terms of MS Suite, OnKey and SAP
β€’ Manufacturing process fault-finding skills
β€’ PLC/SCADA development/maintenance experience will be an added advantage

Main Responsibilities:

Operations Management

β€’ Prepare downtime reports and conduct investigations.
β€’Β Collaborate with Raw Material Coordinator, Customer Service, and Technical Department for daily production planningΒ andforecasting.
β€’ Perform capacity planning and bottleneck elimination.
β€’ Ensure Production Supervisors report on tons per hour and tons delivered.
β€’ Ensure Team Leaders (Warehouse) report on bags loaded, bags packed, stock count and quality checks.
β€’ Stock rotation (FIFO).
β€’ Report slow-moving or near-expiry stock timeously.
β€’ Drive cost reduction and waste elimination.
β€’ Schedule planned downtime for maintenance.
β€’ Managing of projects


Management of Health and Safety; Risk and Quality
β€’ Adhere to ISO 9000/22000/14000/18000 standards in the Total Integrated Management System.
β€’ Ensure ISO training is scheduled, recorded, and shared.
β€’ Ensure environmental legal compliance.


Leadership
β€’ Manage Production Supervisors/Warehouse to meet KPIs
β€’ Manage employee relations; take corrective action (per policy/legislation).
β€’ Financial Management by contributing to cost-cutting initiatives (Production/Warehouse)
