PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the General worker role is to pick stock requested by the clients. The Picker will also be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support the efficient operation of our organization. The ideal candidate should be a fast learner, reliable, and willing to work collaboratively with the team. This is a role is crucial in our organization, as this is the last point of contact with the client.

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
•  One (1) year experience as a General Worker/Picker, or similar role.
• Valid Code B Driver’s License will be an added advantage.
• Valid 5T Forklift Operators certificate will be an added advantage.
• Basic Electrical knowledge will be an added advantage.
• High level of accuracy

 

KEY RESULT AREAS

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse, retail, office, and yard environment.
• Clean and sanitise work areas, shelves, floors, ablution facilities, kitchens, and common areas.
• Assist with loading, offloading, moving, and packing stock.
• Support stock replenishment by moving products from the warehouse to the retail floor.
• Assist with receiving, packing, labelling, and preparing stock for dispatch or collection.
• Support customers by assisting with locating and moving products when required.
• Conduct general housekeeping to ensure work areas remain neat and hazard-free.
• Report damaged stock, maintenance requirements, or safety hazards to management.
• Assist with daily cycle counts and bi-annual stock takes.

 

Personal

• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must be a self-starter, flexible and energetic.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping is a MUST.
• In our fast-paced environment, the candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter, being able to work in a team and individually with total integrity.
