Job Summary

The Creditors Clerk is responsible for managing supplier accounts, processing invoices, reconciling statements, and ensuring that creditors are paid accurately and on time. The role supports the organization's financial operations by maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily cashflow update and monitor.
  • Receive, verify, and process supplier invoices.  
  • Prepare and process creditor payments within agreed payment terms.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate creditor records and filing systems.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding payments, queries, and account issues.
  • Monitor outstanding invoices and ensure timely payment.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Prepare reports on accounts payable and creditor balances.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, and accounting standards.
  • Support audits by providing required documentation and records.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 certificate with 23 points
  • Certificate, Diploma, in Accounting, Finance, or a related field can be advantage.
  • Previous experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or a creditors clerk role preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
