The ideal candidate would be responsible for:

Condition monitoring & mechanical maintenance of equipment;
Fitting and welding;
Part manufacturing on lathes and milling machines;
Proficient mechanical planning;
Commissioning of mechanical equipment.

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

A qualified Fitter and Turner with a minimum N3 certificate;
Completed apprenticeship with a trade test certificate;
A minimum of 3 years’ experience as Fitter and Turner preferably in a manufacturing environment;
Experience in gear-boxes, hydraulic- and pneumatic systems will be a definite advantage;
Be pro-active and able to use own initiative;
Continuous improvement mind-set and be able to work in a team as well as individual environment;
Personal and professional integrity;
Be prepared to work overtime and carry out standby duties on a roster basis;
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to: Health & Safety, risk management; Astral Code of Conduct;
Commit and comply to the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP, 20 Keys, Astral Code of Ethics, and any other company management systems.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times;
Be prepared to relocate to close vicinity of the factory;
Applications will only be considered if accompanied by a copy of your trade certificate.
